This presentation provides an overview of Railinc's FindUs.Rail application, a centralized industry contact database used by railroads, equipment owners, repair facilities, and other industry participants to maintain and locate contact information for specific railroad functions. It explains how contacts are organized by company, category, role, and function so users can identify the appropriate person or organization for a particular business need.
The session demonstrates how users access FindUs.Rail and how company administrators create, search, verify, update, and manage contact records. It also explains the importance of assigning contacts to the appropriate categories and functions and periodically verifying the information so that other industry participants and applications have access to accurate contact data.
An important portion of the presentation addresses mandatory contact information required under AAR Interchange Rule 114. Examples include contacts associated with UMLER, Damaged and Defective Car Tracking (DDCT), Early Warning, Equipment Health Management System (EHMS), and Car Repair Billing functions.
The presentation also explains how FindUs.Rail supports other Railinc applications and industry processes. DDCT uses the database to identify repair shops, scrap facilities, and storage facilities; Tank Car Mileage Equalization uses it to maintain report users; the Mechanical Reference Repository uses it for AAR-approved Running Repair Agents; and other applications use FindUs.Rail contact information for specialized industry functions. The presentation also covers agency relationships that allow one company or organization to perform designated functions on behalf of another.
